Languages and dialects are rapidly dying as globalization makes English the dominant language. Blake, a language archivist, is assigned to the case of Sam, a Chinese speaker whose brain tumor is deteriorating her memory. While Sam confronts the potential loss of her culture and history, Blake is forced to mourn a history that never belonged to her at all. Together, they work to determine what’s truly worth remembering.
